Our Policies

These policies exist to keep Tilt & Token a safe, trustworthy marketplace for the arcade and pinball community. All users are expected to follow these rules. For the complete legal terms, see our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Prohibited Items

The following items may not be listed on Tilt & Token:

  • Stolen goods or items whose provenance cannot be verified upon request.
  • Counterfeit or bootleg PCBs and reproduction parts misrepresented as originals.
  • Non-arcade and non-pinball items. Tilt & Token is a specialty marketplace for coin-operated amusement equipment and related parts.
  • Items that violate applicable law including gambling devices where prohibited by local statute.
  • Fake, joke, or non-serious listings that waste other users' time.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Fraud and scams including fake listings, payment fraud, and misrepresentation of items.
  • Harassment, threats, or discrimination against other users.
  • Multiple accounts. Each person may maintain one account only.
  • Price manipulation and shill bidding.
  • Using stock or stolen photos instead of your own original photos of the actual item.
  • Circumventing platform fees by directing transactions off-platform after connecting through Tilt & Token.

Enforcement Actions

Violations are handled through a graduated enforcement process. The severity of the action depends on the nature of the violation, whether it is a first offense, and the potential harm to other users.

Step 1: Warning

For first-time or minor violations, we issue a warning explaining what happened and what needs to change. The warning is recorded on your account. Listings may be removed or require edits before being re-published.

Step 2: Temporary Suspension

For repeated violations or more serious offenses, your account may be temporarily suspended. During a suspension, you cannot create listings, send messages, or participate in the forum. The suspension length depends on the severity (typically 7 to 30 days).

Step 3: Permanent Ban

For severe violations (such as confirmed fraud, selling stolen goods, or ongoing harassment) or repeated offenses after a suspension, your account is permanently banned. Banned users may not create new accounts.

We reserve the right to skip directly to suspension or a ban for severe violations that pose immediate risk to other users.

Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may appeal:

  1. Email support@tiltandtoken.com with the subject line “Appeal” and your username.
  2. Explain your perspective. Include any relevant context or evidence that you believe the moderation team may have missed.
  3. Wait for review. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who took the original action. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
  4. Outcome. The appeal may result in the action being upheld, modified, or reversed. The decision on appeal is final.

Behavioral Accountability

We believe in giving sellers the freedom to list without artificial barriers. Instead of restricting new accounts up front, we monitor selling behavior and only impose limits on accounts that demonstrate patterns of abuse.

  • No listing limits for new accounts. All users can create listings freely from day one. We want sellers to hit the ground running.
  • Seller standing score. Every seller has a standing score based on their marketplace behavior — paying fees, completing sales honestly, and responding to buyer inquiries.
  • Restrictions for bad actors. Accounts that accumulate validated reports, unpaid fees, or fraudulent activity may have their listing privileges restricted. These restrictions lift automatically as behavior improves.
  • Verification builds trust. Completing seller verification earns a trust badge and signals to buyers that you are a verified member of the community.

This approach keeps the marketplace open for legitimate sellers while giving us the tools to act swiftly against bad actors. The arcade and pinball community thrives on trust — and we protect that trust through accountability, not gatekeeping.
