How Reporting Works

Community reports are one of our most effective tools for keeping Tilt & Token safe. If something looks wrong, your report helps our moderation team take action quickly.

How to Report a Listing

  1. Open the listing you want to report. Navigate to its detail page.
  2. Click the flag icon or the “Report” button. You will find this near the listing actions (below the price area or in the “more options” menu).
  3. Select a reason. Choose the category that best describes the issue: scam or fraud, stolen photos, prohibited item, inaccurate description, duplicate listing, or other.
  4. Add details. Provide any additional context that will help our moderators investigate. For example: “I found these exact photos on a Facebook listing posted two weeks ago by a different seller.”
  5. Submit. Your report is sent to our moderation queue for review.

How to Report a User

  1. Go to the user's profile page. You can reach it by clicking their username on a listing or in the forum.
  2. Click “Report User.” You will find this in the profile actions area.
  3. Select a reason. Choose the category: scam or fraud, harassment, impersonation, spam, or other.
  4. Provide details. Explain what the user did and include any relevant context, such as message screenshots or links to suspicious listings.
  5. Submit. The report goes to our moderation queue.

What Happens After You Report

  1. Your report enters the moderation queue. Our team reviews reports in the order they are received, prioritizing reports that indicate immediate risk (active scams, safety concerns).
  2. A moderator investigates. They review the reported content, the user's history, any related reports, and any automated signals (photo duplicates, message safety flags, etc.).
  3. Action is taken if warranted. Depending on the severity, this may include a warning to the user, removal of the listing, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.
  4. You may receive an update. While we cannot always share details of actions taken (for privacy reasons), we may notify you that your report was reviewed.
Reports are confidential. The reported user will not know who submitted the report.

What We Can and Cannot Do

We can:

  • Remove listings that violate our policies.
  • Warn, suspend, or ban users who engage in prohibited conduct.
  • Flag suspicious activity for further investigation.
  • Provide records of on-platform communications if needed for a dispute.

We cannot:

  • Mediate or resolve financial disputes between buyers and sellers.
  • Guarantee the condition, authenticity, or quality of any item.
  • Recover funds sent through off-platform payment methods.
  • Provide legal advice or law enforcement services.
If you believe you are the victim of a crime, please contact your local law enforcement in addition to reporting the issue on Tilt & Token. For fraud involving interstate transactions, you can also file a report with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
